Welcome to Felixstowe Opportunity Group
We are a group primarily aimed at children and families with additional learning and development needs.
FOG offers opportunities for all the family. For children with additional needs, it offers a place to play that is safe and supportive as well as stimulating. For Siblings, they are encouraged to participate in play or quiet time whilst having their needs acknowledged. For carers and family members, FOG offers a supportive, friendly environment as well as an opportunity to discuss any questions they may have regarding government entitlements.
Formally known as St Mary’s Opportunity Group, the group is managed by a voluntary management committee, made up of parents of children attending the group and members of the local community. The Group began in St Mary’s Church Centre in 1990. St Mary’s Opportunity Group became a registered charity in Sept 1991.
In 1993 the Group opened it’s doors at a purpose-built premises in the grounds of Felixstowe Academy (formally known as Orwell High School) in Felixstowe. For a map go to our Contact Us Find Us Page
In Oct 2009 St Mary’s became Felixstowe opportunity Group or F.O.G. and became members of the pre-school learning alliance in 1996.
A maximum of 24 children may attend the group at any one time. The group is open for various sessions throughout the week and children share access to a secure enclosed outdoor play area.
